I am a dedicated community member who has lived on Orcas Island for 18 years. I have a small farm in Crow Valley and represent the rapidly disappearing demographic of the working landowner. I pledge to advocate for the needs of our community and provide a voice for Orcas Island.

My experiences on the EPRC (Eastsound Planning and Review Committee, 2006 to present) and on the Board of Freeholders (2004) give me a current perspective of issues and a working knowledge of the problems facing county government today.

Eight years on research ships in Antarctica, taught me tenacity and improvising under pressure, and helped me to survive extreme conditions. My creative problem solving skills helped bring groups of scientists and foreign nationals together to safely accomplish objectives.

Common sense and hard work have helped me to develop a thriving small farm and build a wetlands consulting business.
